No. 10 Stanford women’s basketball (17-3, 7-1 Pac-12) travels to Washington State (8-11, 3-5) on Friday at 8 p.m. after sweeping the Arizona schools at home.

The Cardinal have dominated the Cougars in the all-time series. Stanford sports an immaculate 60-0 record against Washington State dating back to 1983. The last time the Cardinal travelled to the Palouse, Washington State’s home court, they were down by 11 to the Cougars at halftime before winning the game 86-76 in overtime.

In Stanford’s last matchup, it used a combination of dominating defense and senior forward Erica McCall’s stellar play to down Arizona State 66-56.

The Sun Devils shot a meager 29 percent from the field.

McCall nearly recorded another double-double by scoring 18 points and grabbing nine rebounds. She is averaging 16.2 points along with 8.6 rebounds. 

Others notables in the matchup against the Sun Devils were senior guard Karlie Samuelson and junior guard Brittany McPhee. Samuelson and McPhee dropped 15 and 13 points, respectively. McPhee suffered an ankle injury late in the first half before coming back in the second half and finishing the game.

A win for Stanford on Friday will put head coach Tara VanDerveer two wins away from 1000 career victories.
