Lacrosse travels north to take on the Ducks

April 7, 2016, 2:47 a.m.

After wins against MPSF-foes Denver and Colorado this weekend, No. 12 Stanford lacrosse (8-2, 3-0 MPSF) will look to maintain its undefeated conference record as it travels to Oregon to play the Ducks (8-4, 3-2) on Friday.

Friday’s game marks the 15th time that Stanford has faced off against Oregon, with the Cardinal leading with an all-time record of 11-3. Stanford has won the last three times the teams have met; last season, the Cardinal beat the Ducks 15-10, in a tight matchup. Oregon’s most recent win over Stanford was in 2012 in the MPSF championship game, in which the Ducks claimed their first conference title.

After the recent loss of star senior Lucy Dikeou to an ACL injury, Stanford is now dependent on its other senior attackers, as well as some of its underclassman midfielders to endure a strong offensive ground. This past weekend, sophomores Kelly Meyers and Dillon Schoen both stepped up their play as each recorded a hat trick. During the game against Colorado, Allie DeCar held up her end in goal, making a crucial 4 saves, keeping the Buffs a few goals behind the Cardinal.

This weekend Stanford will look to these key players in its quest to remain undefeated in conference play. The Cardinal take on the Ducks at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 8. The game will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
