We will post a small portfolio of his or her work, along with a short description. This week, we have the honor of profiling Cody Laux ’15. Two summers ago, Cody received a grant that allowed her to travel to Norway to photograph an important cultural moment in the country’s history, one of new immigration and a burgeoning diversity, which was, of course, not without some conflict. “‘The Norwegians: An American Perspective on the Reconfiguration of Norwegian National Identity’ is black and white photographic series of thirty large prints, each image taken in Norway. Massive amounts of immigration have shattered the nation’s earlier relative homogeneity and are causing a massive shift in the way that the nation conceives of itself, its national identity shifting from the singular to the plural. These images capture cosmopolitan spaces and public interactions in this Scandinavian country at this unique time.” Photo Courtesy of Cody Laux Photo Courtesy of Cody Laux Photo Courtesy of Cody Laux Photo Courtesy of Cody Laux Photo Courtesy of Cody Laux art artist featured artist Norway 2014-09-26 Josie Hodson September 26, 2014 0 Comments Share tweet Subscribe Click here to subscribe to our daily newsletter of top headlines.
